News and Events

Winter Hours 2012/13

The Museum is open Saturday and Sunday, 12:00pm to 5:00pm from October 1, 2012 through June 1, 2013. Please call the Museum to prearrange a week day a visit.

ADMISSION to TOUR the Museum Buildings is $3.00 per person, children under twelve are free.


"Moose on the Loose" & new "Mini Meese"!!!

Watch out! You might suddenly see "Moose on the Loose" in Talkeetna! Walk through town and visit each uniquely designed and decorated Moose. Maps with Moose Art locations are available at the Talkeetna Chamber Kiosk and moose patterns can be purchase for decoration at the Talkeetna Historical Society Museum. And do not miss "Moose on Parade", July 4th at noon. Following the parade, all Moose Art will be on display in the Talkeetna Village Park until they are auctioned off to the highest bidder as a fundraiser for the Talkeetna Chamber of Commerce, Talkeetna Artist Guild and the Talkeetna Historical Society.
